Pochettino Affirms Chelsea Has Not Closed the Transfer Window

Manager Mauricio Pochettino asserts that Chelsea will continue to actively work in the remaining part of the summer 2023 transfer window to bring in quality reinforcements for the upcoming season.

Pochettino Reveals Chelsea’s Transfer Plans

In the last 24 hours, Chelsea has reached agreements to sign two new players, Lesley Ugochukwu from Rennes and Axel Disasi from Monaco. Both players will soon undergo medical examinations and complete the final procedures before officially joining the new team.

Prior to this, The Blues secured two blockbuster signings in the 2023 summer transfer window, Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson. Both players have left a significant mark and contributed greatly to Chelsea’s victory in the Premier League Summer Series friendly tournament in the United States.

With one more month remaining in the summer 2023 transfer window, Chelsea has yet to close its transfer deals. This was personally confirmed by Coach Pochettino after clinching their first trophy with The Blues.

The Argentine strategist stated, “I also don’t know how many more new players Chelsea needs. I think it’s best not to disclose specific numbers as it could create issues for us. But at the moment, the club’s management is working actively in the transfer market. Adding new players is essential before the start of the new season. We are still actively searching for suitable names in the remaining part of the transfer window. The new signings will undoubtedly strengthen the team.”

In the coming period, Chelsea will put in all efforts to acquire at least one more central midfielder. The Blues have been pursuing Moises Caicedo, but they have not reached a common ground with Brighton. Additionally, there have been rumors of Chelsea being prepared to make a shocking move for Mbappe this summer.
