Chelsea is prepared to submit a new offer worth £70 million for Brighton’s midfielder Moises Caicedo.

Chelsea has been monitoring Moises Caicedo for a while now. The London-based club made good offers to Brighton in January but they were not accepted. Nevertheless, Chelsea remains interested in Caicedo even though the Ecuadorian player has signed a new contract with Brighton.

Chelsea has now put forward a £60 million offer to acquire Moises Caicedo this summer. However, this amount has not convinced Brighton, and Chelsea will continue to increase their bid for Caicedo.

According to the Standard, Caicedo has reached a personal agreement with Chelsea. The Blues are still working to persuade Brighton to lower their transfer fee demands so that the deal can go through.

However, Brighton is still holding onto a very high valuation for Moises Caicedo, especially after witnessing Declan Rice join Arsenal for £105 million. The figure that Brighton has set is close to £100 million before letting Caicedo go.

Recently, Caicedo admitted that he could not turn down Chelsea as it is a club with a glorious history. Clearly, he will be a top priority for Chelsea after parting ways with several midfielders in this summer transfer window.

Despite being just 21 years old, Caicedo already possesses considerable playing experience. He has appeared in a total of 45 matches for Brighton in the Premier League, scoring 2 goals and providing 2 assists. Caicedo made his Premier League debut for Brighton towards the end of the 2021/22 season but quickly became an indispensable pillar of the club. In the Ecuadorian national team, Moises Caicedo debuted in 2020 and has earned a total of 32 caps.
